Thailand to host Eco & Adventure Travel Mart 2010

At present the impact from the global warming is of extensive interest, therefore there is a tendency that people are paying more attention to the natural resources and environment which brings about the trend of the eco tourism and additional natural adventure activities.

Thus Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has organized Thailand Eco & Adventure travel Mart 2010 between 25th – 27thJune, 2010 at Nakhonnayok province which is the hub for those who admire the fascinating nature and thrilling adventure.

The objective of the event is to provide the buyer both internal and external to meet and discuss business potential with the seller from every province nationwide. In addition it is an opportunity to compile tourism products and services from various sources for the consumer to choose which is also stimulate the travelling between the regions.

Within the travel mart the customer will get a special offer on the related products and services on eco-tourism and other various adventures in almost 100 booths from varying 5 regions in Thailand. There are as well the performances on provincial culture to enjoy, different local food to taste, and interesting adventures to partake such as Artificial Rock Climbing, BB gun shooting, canoeing, balloon flying, ATV riding, and numerous fascinating activities for all to join in. Tourism Authority of Thailand Launches Internet Call Centre

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has established an Internet Call Centre to help visitors get updated tourism information or even lodge a complaint.

The Centre has been set up at the TAT Head Office since 1 October, 2009, and provides a 24-hour service in Thai and English. The information can be provided via internet inquiry or video live chat.

Tourists can log in to www.tourismthailand.org and click on the “1672 tourist hotline” icon on the lower right-hand side of the web-page. After selecting the language, visitors will be asked to fill in basic details such as their name and email address.

The information available covers these categories: accommodation, travelling, sight-seeing and season. A fifth category allows visitors to lodge a complaint.

Responses will be provided as soon as possible, depending on the kind of information sought, and the time it will take to compile and verify it.

As of 30 November 2009, the Centre has responded to inquiries from 3,074 visitors in 18 countries, viz., Japan, US, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, China, Denmark, UK, Switzerland, Korea, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Indonesia and Thailand. Read the rest of this entry »

Phuket To Feature As A Backdrop Destination For Miss Belgium 2010 Pageant

Twenty contestants in the Miss Belgium 2010 beauty contest are to visit Phuket during 16-23 November, 2009, as part of the efforts by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to generate publicity and attract more visitors from Belgium and other countries of the European Union.

The TAT Paris office together with BEST Tours, a major Belgian tour operator, won the support of the organizer of the beauty pageant to select Phuket as the backdrop destination for the various fashion and other film-shoots featured in the beauty pageant. Read the rest of this entry »
