Hong Kong Wetland Park is an important living ground for birds. Up to now, the Park has recorded over 235 bird species, which accounts for about half of the bird species of Hong Kong. The Park is an ideal place for bird watching.
This year, the adorable ducks will be the icon of the “Bird Watching Festival” at Hong Kong Wetland Park. Every winter, large flocks of ducks can be seen at the Park. Moreover, the Park has first invited the renowned comic star “Ah Lei” to be the ambassador of “Bird Watching Festival 2011/12″, accompanying visitors to know more about the lovely ducks in a fun-filled way. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is promoting Thai tourism by supporting an exhibition of amazing photographs under the theme “Travel with a New Heart for a Sustainable Thailand.”
The exhibition will feature over 200 photos of people and historical and cultural landmarks from all over Thailand, taken by noted photographer Ajarn Athlon Jullowbol. The stars of the tennis world are lined up for the Hong Kong Tennis Classic 2010. The city’s showpiece event will feature four of the ‘World’s Top Ten’, plus five Grand Slam Champions, and it takes on an exciting new twist with the inclusion of four of the ‘legends’ of men’s tennis.
Top names include world number four, Caroline Wozniacki, and sixth ranked, Victoria Azarenka who will both represent Team Europe. Opposing divas Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams will represent Team Russia and Team Americas respectively. They will be supported by world number nine, Russian Vera Zvonareva and Argentina’s top-ranked player, Gisela Dulko. Sports icon and Chinese player, Zheng Jie, and Japan’s number one, Ayumi Morita, headline a determined Team Asia Pacific.
Four legends of the men’s game line up alongside their illustrious female compatriots. Team Americas showcases former superstar Michael Chang, who makes a welcome return to Hong Kong for Team Americas. Thai heartthrob Paradorn Srichaphan, who recently returned to the world circuit, adds power and spice to Team Asia Pacific. The Royal Phuket Marina (RPM), one of Thailand’s premier world-class yachting hubs, is kicking-off the annual Holiday Season with a series of luxury events showcasing some of the world’s most admired supercars.
The Phuket season officially begins at RPM’s Town Square on Friday, November 20th when international society magazine Phuket Tatler hosts its annual Christmas Cocktail. Phuket’s social set and a host of visiting VIPs from around the globe can expect a glamorous night under the stars with gourmet dining and superb entertainment in true Tatler and Royal Phuket Marina fashion.
The glamour continues over the weekend when Thailand’s Niche Cars presents two days of speed, elegance and sheer beauty on November 21 and 22 when it introduces the “Italian raging bull” the Lamborghini Gallardo, while legendary British motor company Lotus presents the Lotus Exige and Lotus Elise. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Each year in late November to early December, the world famous River Kwai Bridge built by Allied prisoners-of-war during World War II, becomes the focal point of celebrations.
Event highlights include historical and archaeological exhibits, a carnival, folk and cultural performances, rides on World War II vintage trains, and a spectacular light and sound presentation re-enacting the bridge’s World War II legacy.
Watch the light-and-sound show in remembrance of the bridge and the construction of the “Death Railway” during World War II (There are 4 sets of headphones available in English, Japanese, Chinese and German). A wealth of entertainment and Exhibitions are on display.

Miss Chutathip Chareonlarp, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Office said that, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, in cooperation with the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Administrative Organization, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, Fine Arts Department, TAT Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Office, and relevant public and private agencies, will arrange the “Ayutthaya World Heritage and Red Cross Fair 2009”, during 11-20 December, 2009, at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park to celebrate the occasion that the UN World Heritage Committee announced the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park as a Cultural World Heritage Site in 1991.
In this event, there will be many interesting activities. Firstly, the Lord Buddha relics at Chao Sam Phraya National Museum for the public to pay respect. Furthermore, there will be exhibitions and booths to sell OTOP products and well-known goods from 16 districts. Visitors can see an aqricultural exhibition, flowering and decorative plants, and attend a food fair. The Community and Village Leaders’ Thai Country Song Singing Contest, floating market activities, cultural performances, Thida Krungkao Contest, Red Cross booths, as well as buying a Red Cross lottery for donation, are also some other features of this event.
Vistors should NOT MISS to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the ancient people’s way of life in the imitation marketplace of the Ayutthaya Period and use a replica of an ancient coin, Phot Duang, to exchange for food and desserts. More than 200,000 visitors are expected to attend a grand festival designed to celebrate and honour His Majesty the King, now the world’s longest reigning monarch, who will be celebrating his 82nd birthday on 5 December, 2009.
The opening ceremony will be held on 1 December, but the entire festival will run from 30 November – 10 December, 2009, at the Ratchaphruek 2006 Garden in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai. His Majesty the King ascended the throne in June 1946 and was coronated in May 1950.
Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Chiang Mai Provincial Administration, the festival is expected to attract thousands of Thais, expatriate residents of Thailand, and international visitors to the northern region of Thailand.
