V Australia Second Phase Expansion – Tuk Tuk Off To Thailand Or Safari In South Africa

Australia’s new international airline V Australia today announced Phuket and Johannesburg as its next two destinations along with a strengthened focus on Melbourne just six months after launch. Four new V Australia routes to commence from December onwards include:

  • Brisbane to Phuket, Thailand direct twice weekly from 22 November 2009
  • Melbourne to Phuket, Thailand direct flights 1 a week from 3 December 2009
  • Melbourne to Los Angeles, USA direct flights twice weekly from 1 December 2009
  • Melbourne to Johannesburg, South Africa direct flights from 13 March 2010

The airline has also lodged an application with the International Air Services Commission for permission and slots to operate flights between Australia and Fiji.

To celebrate the extra destinations of Phuket and Johannesburg, special launch fares go on sale from 2.00pm today on the airline’s website starting from $399 one way to Phuket and $1899 return to Johannesburg from Melbourne. Special launch fares for International Business Class are also available from $1499 one way to Phuket and $5999 return to Johannesburg. Chiang Mai Zoo Snow Dome Opens

The newly-opened 580-square-metre Snow Dome is the latest attraction in the northern city of Chiang Mai. Soon to be the new home and play pen for Chiang Mai’s famous panda family – Chuang Chuang (the male panda), Lin Hui (the mother), and their cub born on 27 May, the Snow Dome also features a separate area where visitors to the zoo will be able to see, touch and feel, and even frolic in the ‘snow’.

Jet Airways Announces Second Daily Service To Bangkok From Mumbai

In response to growing customer demand, Jet Airways, India‘s premier international airline, will introduce its second daily service to Bangkok from Mumbai aboard its state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft, effective August 16, 2009.

The airline currently operates a daily service to Bangkok from Mumbai, as well as from Delhi and Kolkata.

Effective August 16, 2009, flight 9W 68 will depart Mumbai at 1305 hrs, arriving in Bangkok at 1855 hrs. Flight 9W 67 will then depart Bangkok at 2055 hrs, arriving in Mumbai at 2340 hrs. Read the rest of this entry »
